They completed the New Testament (Matthew through Revelation), but in the Old Testament they stopped after Isaiah. Jeremiah through Malachi were not translated. Their translation was quite accurate. At the time, there was no standard for spelling Marshallese. From that time until about 1990, people spelled words in many different ways. Then the Marshallese government chose the Marshallese English Dictionary as the standard for Marshallese. We translated Jeremiah through Malachi from Hebrew into Marshallese. We also updated the spelling of the Bible to follow the standard set down by the Ministry of Education. We also made some changes to words and verses where it seemed they were not clear before. This is the original Marshallese Bible translated in the late 1800’s by the Protestant missionaries. This version has been updated and completed to include all 66 books. It is the Naan Ko Re Jouj Ministries (Words of Grace) version, 5th edition.
This is the original Marshallese Bible translated in the late 1800’s by the Protestant missionaries. This version is simply a photo copy. The books of Jeremiah through Malachi are not included, and the spelling is what the original translators chose at that time.
